Supplemental Payment Terms

Last updated October 20, 2026 · Version 2026-10-20.1

These Supplemental Payment Terms apply when a Club uses Zeil to collect money from its own members and guests. They add to the Zeil Terms of Service (the “Terms”) between Zeil Software LLC (“Zeil,” “we”) and the Club (“you”). Words defined in the Terms have the same meaning here.

1. What this covers. You can collect course fees, guest sail fees, membership dues, and other payments from your own members and guests through Stripe Connect. Payments are switched off until an administrator turns them on, completes Stripe’s account-opening and identity checks for your club’s own Stripe account, and accepts these terms.

2. You are the seller. When you collect money through Zeil, your club is the seller and the merchant of record. Charges are created on your club’s own Stripe account in your club’s name, and funds settle to your club’s bank account. You are responsible to your members and guests for what you sell, including delivery, changes, cancellations, refunds, and disputes. Zeil never holds your club’s money. Your use of Stripe is also governed by your own agreement with Stripe.

3. Zeil’s platform fee. For each payment you collect through Zeil, Zeil charges a platform fee of 2% of the price you set for the item, published at zeilapp.com/pricing. Stripe deducts it from your club’s Stripe balance as an application fee at the time of the charge, or on each invoice for dues. The rate is the same whatever payment method the payer uses. The platform fee is separate from your Zeil subscription.

4. The booking fee your members see. Zeil shows the platform fee to the payer as a “booking fee” line equal to the platform fee, added to the price you set and charged by your club as part of its sale.
(a) Zeil shows the full amount the payer must pay, including the booking fee, wherever a price is displayed. You must do the same anywhere else you advertise the item.
(b) The booking fee is the same for every payment method and every channel you use to sell that item. If you sell the same item by cash, check, or another channel outside Zeil, you must charge the same total there.
(c) Do not describe the booking fee as a card, processing, convenience, or service fee, or as a fee paid to Zeil.

5. Stripe’s fees. Stripe’s payment-processing fees, dispute fees, and any other Stripe charges are set by Stripe under your agreement with Stripe and are charged to your club’s Stripe account. Zeil does not set, mark up, pay, or absorb them. Stripe does not return its processing fee when a payment is refunded.

6. You set your prices. You decide the price of everything you sell through Zeil. Zeil may offer tools, such as a price calculator, that suggest a price intended to cover an estimate of Stripe’s fees. Suggestions are estimates based on the assumptions shown in the tool. Zeil does not guarantee the amount you will receive, which can vary with the card or payment method used, currency, refunds, and disputes.

7. Pricing and consumer law. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your prices, fees, taxes, refunds, recurring charges, and advertising, including laws requiring that advertised prices include all mandatory fees. Zeil’s price displays are designed to show the full price, but you are responsible for the prices and terms you set and for any advertising outside Zeil. Nothing Zeil provides is legal or tax advice.

8. No card surcharges. Zeil does not support, and you must not use Zeil to impose, any surcharge, fee, or price difference based on the payment method or card type a payer uses, unless Zeil has enabled a feature for that purpose for your club in writing. Offering the same price to everyone is always permitted. Zeil may remove or disable any price element, label, or description that it reasonably believes violates these terms or applicable law, and will tell you when it does.

9. Refunds. You decide whether and how much to refund, under your own published terms, and refunds are paid from your club’s Stripe balance. When a payment is refunded in full or in part, through Zeil or in your Stripe Dashboard, Zeil returns the same proportion of its platform fee to your club’s Stripe account. Stripe’s processing fee is not returned.

10. Disputes and chargebacks. You are responsible for responding to disputes on your payments. Stripe debits the disputed amount and any dispute fee from your club’s Stripe account under your agreement with Stripe. If a dispute is finally decided against your club, Zeil returns its platform fee on the disputed amount in the same proportion. If the dispute is decided in your club’s favor, the platform fee stays as charged.

11. What your members and guests see. Zeil identifies your club by its legal name as the seller on checkout pages, receipts, and payment emails, shows your contact details and the registration, cancellation, and refund terms you provide, and states that Zeil provides the booking software. You must keep that information accurate and provide the terms that apply to what you sell.

12. Responsibility. Your indemnity under the Terms covers claims arising from your violation of pricing, fee, surcharge, refund, and consumer protection laws in connection with payments you collect. Using Zeil to advertise a price that leaves out a mandatory fee, to charge a fee not shown in the full price, or to impose a surcharge in breach of Section 8 is a breach of the Terms’ acceptable use rules.

13. Relationship to the Terms. These terms are part of the Terms. If they conflict with the Terms on payments, these terms control. Zeil may update them as described in the Terms, including advance email notice of material changes.
